Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has set the task to increase the export of Russian livestock products to billions of dollars in the next decade.
At a meeting with heads of major domestic livestock enterprises the Prime Minister recalled that to support the export the Presidium of the Council for strategic development in 2016, approved the passport of a priority project "Export of production of agro-industrial complex".
"The goal is to increase exports up to $ 18 billion next year, up to $ 30 billion in 2025, these are achievable figures," he said.
According to him, the volume of exports in livestock should increase "approximately in the same progression", although the volume will be less.
"However, we still have to reach the billions of dollars of exports of livestock products in the middle of the next decade", - said the Prime Minister.
He drew attention to the fact that the passport of the project provides support measures, including the opening of markets, promotion of products and preferential crediting.
