Mikhail Mishchenko: import substitution has not taken place in Russia
- There is a lot of talk about exports, but its main limitation is the political situation and the growing isolation of the Russian Federation. Deficit of milk in Russia is 4 352 000 tons, surplus in Belarus - 3 829 000 tons, said Mikhail Mishchenko, quoted by The DairyNews.
According to the expert, import substitution is an attempt to create domestic production at any level; export is a support for large players, not for small ones.
- It's a full turn and change of direction. Import substitution has not taken place. The strategy to support small producers does not work, - concluded the expert.
It should be noted that according to the RDRC, since 2013 in Russia the number of peasant farm holdings has decreased by 20.3%, the number of agricultural enterprises has increased by 11.1%.
