Mikhail Mishchenko: the price of milk will fall in 2018

As noted by the Director of the Russian Dairy Research Center (RDRC) Mikhail Mishchenko in the course of the broadcast of "Dairy skeptics", price of milk will fall next year, reports The DairyNews.
"The price of milk has already declined significantly and this trend will continue in 2018 on the domestic market of the country. In addition, the consumption of milk and demand for raw materials from dairy plants traditionally decreases during New Year period," - said the expert.
We will remind that the Dairy Index RDRC on 25 December 2017 amounted to a 24.57 rubles/kg (excluding VAT, fat and protein content -3.6% and 3.0% respectively), 3.04% below the level of last week and 8.83% below the average of December 2016. The average price for milk in the "regions-importers" and "regions-exporters" remained at level of last week, however, the Index of import price fell by 9.89% and triggered decline of Dairy Index RDRC. Prices for dairy products at the exchange platforms are falling, which will lead to the reduction of prices for raw milk on the domestic market, say analysts of the RDRC.
