This was stated by the Director of the Russian Dairy Research Center (RDRC) during the broadcast of the heading "Agricultural policy" of the program Reflection on OTR, reports The DairyNews.
"Unfortunately, there is not enough high quality milk in Russia at the moment. We need to admit it," the expert said in an interview with the presenter of the program Igor Abakumov.

Mikhail Mishchenko noted that there are a lot of problems in the dairy industry. But today, in most regions people are trying to solve these problems, including through the construction of dairy plants.

"Construction of the plant means the growth of demand, which provides the development for the market as a whole. As for milk: if milk, sorry, gets sour after three days, there is nothing good in it, because, most likely, the quality of initial raw material leaves much to be desired", - said the expert.

"When we talk about milk and milk consumption, we need to talk not about the consumption of milk for drinking, but about the consumption of milk primarily as the consumption of cheese, butter. As to produce 1 kg of cheese we use approximately 10 kg of milk. As for butter it is about 1 to 25. Accordingly, when we talk about the consumption of milk, we are talking about the consumption of these products. That is, 20 g of cheese per day means 200 grams of milk," suggested Mikhail Mishchenko.
