Mikhail Sayapin: The rise in milk prices is inevitable
"The rise in price is inevitable due to the increase in production costs. In this case, we will lose or earn less, and we as business representatives are not interested in this. Prices are rising and will continue to rise. Yet, there are two options: either they grow, or the product will disappear. We can limit the growth of prices for the final product if the state compensates for our additional costs.’ - said Mikhail.
We remind that according to Dairy Intelligence Agency, the Dairy Index DIA is still at the level of 29 rubles/kg (excluding VAT, fat - 3.6%, protein - 3.0%), which is 8.7% higher than in late June 2020. The weighted average price of milk in Russia remained at the level of last week.
In addition, other representatives of the industry have already reported on the increase in prices for raw milk: by the autumn, producers plan to raise selling prices, they no longer cover the costs, said market participants to RBC. At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture notes an increase in production costs, despite the fact that prices are still stable.
