Milk consumption in China will grow by 22% by 2027
According to Xiaoxia Dong, the consumption of dairy products in China will be 40.5 kg per capita in 2027.
- In 2008, there were serious changes in the Chinese dairy industry - the growth of import of dairy products from moderate to explosive. In 2017 the import of dairy products to China amounted to 2.45 million tons or 14.3 million tons in terms of milk.
According to the expert, in January-August 2018, China imported 1.8 million tons of dairy products. The main exporter of dairy products to China is now New Zealand: it accounts for 92% of Chinese imports of whole milk powder, 47% of skim milk powder and 86% of butter.
