Russian dairy products consumer market is growing in 2013, there are no signs of milk destined for processing deficiency. This is according to Vladimir Labinov, head of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Breeding at Russian Ministry of Agriculture. Volumes of production and sales of whole-milk products are increasing, supplies of raw milk to processing enterprises are not decreasing, he added.
Earlier a number of milk and dairy products producers claimed industry’s production fall. According to official data from Rosstat, during January-October 2013 period general milk production in Russia decreased by 4% to 26.7 mln tons. Mr. Labinov noted, that volumes of commercial milk sent to processors still didn’t fall.
