Milk processing market is in for survival struggle

Current conditions in Russian economics are likely to impact milk processors and to result in tough struggle for survival. This was said by State Duma member Arkady Ponomarev within hearings in the Public Chamber.
Milk cost will grow in 2015 by 24% against 2014, forecasted the expert. Taking into consideration growth of interest rates, inflation and a number of other factors the price for milk will increase by 46%, its consumption – by as many.
Cost of milk processing including salaries, expenses for service parts and electricity will grow in 2015 by 5%. As a result of weakening rouble expenses for import packing materials and ingredients will grow by 7-8%, according to Mr. Ponomarev. Milk processors’ cost escalation will also take place due to growth of bonuses in retail chains, believes.
