Milk processors address X5 Retail Group with reports of incomplete readiness for EVC
– X5 has been working in the “Mercury” system for about 10 months; our infrastructure is ready to expand the list of goods that must be accompanied by electronic veterinary certificates. At the same time, we received a significant number of official appeals from the largest representatives of the dairy industry about the incomplete readiness to work in the “Mercury” system, which causes us concerns about the timing of the transition period for dairy products, – commented Dmitry Rusakov.
The expert noted that market participants had similar concerns before the introduction of veterinary certification for meat and fish products last year, but then it was possible to cope with difficulties.
– I am sure that this year we will make every effort with our partners to prevent shortages of products on store shelves, but this will require significant additional costs for all participants in the supply chain, – concluded the Director of the Department for the implementation of industry-wide projects and programs of X5 Retail Group.
We will remind, since July 1, 2019, electronic veterinary certificates will be issued for cheese, butter, cottage cheese, and since November 1 – for milk, dairy products and ice cream.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "Tulsky dairy plant" Alexander Shirinkin spoke about the work in the "Mercury" system for finished dairy products. According to him, switching to EVC requires coherence in the relationship between the processor and retail.
