Milk production on farms of all categories has increased by 1.9%

In January-October 2019, the gross milk yield on farms of all categories amounted to 26.7 million tons and increased by 1.9% compared to the level of 2018, in agricultural organizations, the gross milk yield increased by 3.8% to 14.1 million tons. The growth of gross milk yield is provided by an increase in the productivity of dairy cattle, writes The DairyNews with reference to the press service of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation.
Thus, in January-September 2019 the yield per 1 cow in agricultural organizations was 5 780.0 kg (+6.0% compared to the same period in 2018).
According to Rosstat, the volume of industrial production of milk, except raw milk in January-October 2019 amounted to 4,422.5 thousand tons (1.4% lower than the same period in 2018), fermented dairy products (except cottage cheese) – 2,326.5 thousand tons (2.5% less), cheeses – 434.9 thousand tons (9.7% more), milk-containing products with a substitute for milk fat produced by cheese technology – 144.3 thousand tons (10.2% less), butter – 219.3 thousand tons (0.2% less), milk and cream powder – 130.7 thousand tons (14.1% more).
