Milk unwilling to get sorted
At the moment a special group at the Ministry of Agriculture is working at proposals aimed to alter the subsidies per 1 kg of commercial milk scheme of allocation. Russian Dairy Union proposes to abolish the excessive criteria of subsidies allocation. The union insists on GOST 52054 prolongation till 2017 (its effect finishes in 2015). Otherwise the sorting criteria in the process of subsidies per 1 kg on milk allocation will not work, conclude RSPMO experts.
Sorting criteria forces regions to claim false volumes of production in order to get the support. Severization of requirements to milk content (fat/protein) also restricts farmers’ access to subsidies, according to the National Dairy Producers Union (SOUZMOLOKO).
For the government it is difficult today to control milk division into sorts. To use this criterion to allocate subsidies is “not quite correct”, commented Stefan Duerr, head of agricultural holding EkoNiva.
