Molvest expects the Russian cheese market to grow by 5% in 2021
It is worth reminding that the group took the third place in the rating of the Top 100 largest companies in Russia, which is available at the link.
‘The year was not easy because of Covid 19. Many opportunities have been lost. However, in some categories, it was possible to increase sales volumes: such commodity groups as cheese, butter and cream showed the best dynamics. The priority sales regions for Molvest Group are the Central Chernozem and Volga Federal Districts, Crimea, and Moscow. As for the new ones, these are the markets of Southeast Asia. We are increasing the export of powdered milk ingredients to these countries. We predict that this year there will most likely be zero dynamics of consumption of dairy products, with the exception of cheese, in this category we expect that demand will be higher than last year and the Russian cheese market will grow by 5% in physical terms by the end of 2021 compared to 2020. Unfortunately, this volume mainly goes to foreign suppliers, including Belarusian ones, who are increasing exports to Russia at double-digit rates,’ Anatoly Losev noted.
In 2020, the enterprises of Molvest increased the volume of milk processing by 36.9 thousand tons, allowing the holding to have a 2.6% share of the processing market.
