More than 2.3 thousand producers of cheese and ice cream have joined the "Honest mark" system
‘Mandatory labeling of dairy products started on June 1 with the categories "cheeses" and "ice cream". By July 1, 2,337 manufacturers from 85 regions of Russia were registered in the system. Most of all, 186 enterprises from Moscow are registered in the system, Moscow region is in second place - 119 companies, St. Petersburg closes the top three with 85 enterprises,’ the press service explained.
At the same time, according to the CATD, the leading regions in terms of volume of production of labeled products are Moscow region, Moscow, Krasnodar region, Tatarstan and Samara region. As noted by Co-chair of the Digital Initiatives Committee of the Association of Retail Companies (AKORT) Anna Orlova, a month after the start of the mandatory labeling of cheeses and ice cream, retail chains interact with manufacturers as usual.
‘In a month since the start of the introduction of labeling, retail chains have managed to build up work with labeled dairy products. Retail has been working and is working as usual - no retail chain has reported any difficult issues that arise during the acceptance or withdrawal of goods. Labeled products are consistently delivered to the shelves,’ the CATD quotes her as saying.
Since September 1, the second stage of labeling will begin for dairy products with a shelf life of more than 40 days, and since December 1 - for goods with a shelf life of less than 40 days. The withdrawal from the circulation of dairy products with an expiration date of less than 40 days will occur in January 2022, with an expiration date of more than 40 days - in the summer of 2022. Starting since September 1, 2022, volume and grade accounting will be introduced. For farmers who will sell products directly or through retail, labeling will become mandatory since December 1, 2022. The per-item accounting of dairy products will be introduced since December 1, 2023.
