Moscow and Minsk are coordinating the start of food supplies from 10 Belarusian enterprises.

Only three Belarusian enterprises remain closed for food supplies to the Russian market, 7 are partially closed. This was reported by the special representative of the Russian President for trade and economic cooperation with Belarus, Ambassador Mikhail Babich.

"It turned out that only 3 enterprises are closed completely and 7 are closed partially. And the latter are now in the stage of approval to be opened. Vice-Premier Gordeyev and Russy personally monitor this work", - said the diplomat.

He reminded that at the talks of the presidents in Sochi in September, they talked about more than 50 Belarusian enterprises, which were not allowed to supply to the Russian market. "As a result of consistent work on the implementation of the "road map" enterprises that have met the requirements of the Rosselkhoznadzor, consistently started supplies, 3-4 enterprises per week", - said Babich.

At the same time, he expressed bewilderment that on December 13 in Brest at the Union Council of Ministers the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs [of Belarus] announced that about 55 Belarusian enterprises are currently completely closed for supplies, and 18 are partially closed. "We knew that this is not so, but just in case checked, because you never know, what if someone suddenly made an economic diversion the night before the Council of Ministers. We checked everything", the Ambassador said.

According to him, one of the achievements of the current year was the signing of the food balance for 2019 in October. "To this balance we offered our Belarusian partners to specify specific enterprises, so that it would be easier for the Rosselkhoznadzor to understand where the products would come from, and so that Belarusian agricultural producers, in turn, understood that they have a guaranteed Russian market in case of fulfillment of all quality indicators", the Ambassador said.

In addition, he noted, by the end of the year, a joint automated information system for traceability of products “Mercury” will be launched and thus, the entire chain from raw materials to finished products on store shelves will be fully traced.

Babich noted that the figures for the supply of relevant Belarusian products are indicative: from 100% of imports, which comes to Russia in terms of milk - 86% - are products of Belarus, butter - 71%, cheese - 84%. "What kind of discrimination are we talking about?" the diplomat said. "Today we really create a priority for Belarusian producers, because we have a deficit". However, if there is no deficit, the priority will certainly be in favor of the Russian manufacturer. "With the level of modernization that we have today and plans for the development of Russian enterprises, the level of security increases every year by 2.5-3%. In about five or six years it will be filled", the Russian Ambassador said.

The Rosselkhoznadzor has repeatedly imposed bans on the supply of products from Belarusian enterprises in connection with re-export - goods from countries under the food embargo are exported to Russia under the guise of Belarusian ones. In addition, the Russian Department imposed temporary restrictions on the supply of certain types of Belarusian milk and raw materials to the Russian Federation due to "product insecurity". Belarus has pledged to take measures to prevent the import of agricultural products under sanctions into Russia.
