Moscow region entered the top-3 rating of regions for the accession of producers to the labeling of dairy products in the Russian Federation

‘Today, Moscow region ranks second in the rating of regions for the accession of producers to the labeling of dairy products in Russia. 129 producers from our region working with dairy products are registered in the Honest mark system,’ said Sergey Voskresensky, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Moscow region.

According to him, the product labeling system will increase the competitiveness of local producers, and the consumer will be able to verify the accuracy of information about the place of production, date and manufacturer of products.

‘Chistaya Liniya, Hohland, Lactalis Vostok, Foodland and Lateo enterprises have become the leaders among dairy producers from Moscow region in introducing labeling codes into circulation,’ noted Sergey Voskresensky.

In total, 2,483 producers have joined the labeling of dairy products across the country. Moscow topped the rating. St. Petersburg is in third place.

Since September 1, the second stage of labeling will begin for dairy products with a shelf life of more than 40 days, and since December 1 - for goods with a shelf life of less than 40 days. Withdrawal of dairy products with an expiration date of less than 40 days through the cash register will occur in January 2022, with an expiration date of more than 40 days – in the summer of 2022. Starting since September 1, 2022, volume and grade accounting will be introduced. Labeling will become mandatory for farmers since December 1, 2022. The per-item accounting of dairy products will be introduced since December 1, 2023.
