Nazip Khazipov: in Tatarstan it is planned to increase the volume of milk processing

"The largest milk processing plant in our Republic is located in Kazan – the daily volume is 200 tons. Investors from Udmurtia intend to increase the figure to 1000 tons by 2020 and 1.5 thousand tons by 2021. In the second largest city, Naberezhnye Chelny, where the processing is about 150 tons, the capacity is planned to be increased by almost a half," said Nazip Khazipov.

According to the Russian Dairy Research Center (RDRC), the volume of processed milk in the region amounted to 1.2 million tons in 2016, while the volume of consumption of dairy products – 1.04 million tons. According to the Ministry of agriculture and food of the Republic of Tatarstan the sufficiency of raw milk in the region is 124%.

Nazip Khazipov also commented on earlier statements made by the authorities of the region on the formation of the cheese cluster similar to the one in Moscow region.
"The issue is now under consideration, but interest in the case has decreased due to procurement prices. Our warehouses have accumulated a large amount of milk, butter and cheese. At present investors and owners are thinking in this direction, waiting for the stabilization of the situation", - said the Deputy Minister.
