Nestle launched the production of infant formula in Russia, the company invested 1.9 billion rubles
The plant is located on the territory of the operating production site of Nestle in Vologda, where baby porridge and instant porridge are produced. The capacity of the new production is about 10 thousand tons per year. Raw materials for the plant (milk powder) are imported.
According to Rolland, the products of the new factory will be supplied to the Russian market and exported primarily to the CIS countries. Prior to the launch of the new production in Vologda, Nestle supplied infant formula to Russia from its plant in Europe. Nestle acquired the plant of baby food in Vologda in 2003, since 2005 it has begun to produce baby porridge there, since 2010 launched the production of instant porridge.
In Russia, Nestle also owns a confectionery factory in Samara, a factory for the production of culinary products in Vladimir region, a factory for the production of pet food in Kaluga region, a confectionery factory and a factory for the production of ready-made breakfasts in Perm, an enterprise for the production of instant coffee in Krasnodar region and three production sites in Moscow region (for the production of bottled water, culinary products and ice cream).
