The Company “NEVA MILK” in cooperation with the equipment manufacturer Multivac has introduced a new packaging solution for cheese to the Russian market. A new line with a capacity of 700 kg of cheese per hour (more than 200 tons per month) was installed and launched at the production complex "NEVA MILK" in St. Petersburg. 3 million euros has been invested into the project, reports The DairyNews.
The technology has been implemented based on the results of studying the opinions of cheese buyers in St. Petersburg and Moscow. The new packaging will be used for the brand "Tysyacha ozer". It is a vertical envelope with a sealed double adhesion that can be opened on the right. The envelope valve allows you to repeatedly open and close it after opening. In this package the product is better protected from drying out while maintaining freshness and flavor.
− This solution will allow to update the appearance of the brand's products and to attract additional attention of customers. Also the envelope is more convenient for the end user, in comparison with applied packages at present, − commented on the innovation the founder and owner of "NEVA MILK" Albert Sufiyarov. – Due to this step we expect to increase the share of the brand " Tysyacha ozer " in the market by 20%, compared to the current one.
The envelope uses a multilayer barrier film based on polyamide and polyethylene, produced by co-extrusion method. According to the requirements for food safety, a double adhesion is applied.
Products in new packaging will appear on store shelves in two weeks in St. Petersburg, then in Moscow and in a few months they will be sold in all regions of Russia.
- This "cheese envelope" holds 125 or 150 grams of sliced cheese, as before. However, the thickness of the envelope is reduced by 5 mm, and the volume of the used material - by 20%. This allows, first, to save space and increase the volume of products on supermarket shelves, optimizing logistics. Secondly, the original film produced by Multivac, has better decomposability and requires less resources for further processing, − said the General Director of "NEVA MILK" Vladimir Zyukov.
