Oksana Lut: Promotion of Russian food brands contributes to the development of agricultural exports
During the round table the participants discussed the implementation of the export potential of our country in agro-industrial complex, improving the quality of business processes of Russian agricultural enterprises, the development of organic production and other topics.
As the Deputy Minister noted, at the moment our country is widely known abroad as a producer of grain, fish products and vegetable oil, which do not need special branding. At the same time, additional work is required to position domestic dairy, confectionery products and a number of niche products in foreign markets. The relevant activities are already being implemented in cooperation with the Russian Export Center.
According to Oksana Lut, the creation and development of "umbrella" brands primarily contributes to the expansion of supplies by small enterprises. At the same time, export-oriented companies should understand the potential difficulties in the target markets.
"In addition to studying foreign markets, finalizing the taste of products, companies need to be engaged in the registration of trademarks. Our companies have already had precedents when it was found that their trademarks were tried to be registered by other companies. It is necessary to take this into account when planning export activities", - said Oksana Lut.
