Oleg Dymar: projects for the demineralization of whey D90 quickly pay off
"I don't know why demineralization projects in Russia haven't been brought to this level yet. In Belarus, the first project – Verkhnedvinsk creamery, which was launched in 2011 – by 2012-2013, it was already producing whey for baby food. These projects pay off fairly quickly – the main thing is that there is a market. There is definitely a market for D70, and many factories clearly understand that if they invest in such equipment, this whey will be quite easily sold with a good profit", said Oleg Dymar.
The expert added that difficulties with demineralization (which may lead to a lack of 90% serum on the Russian market) may arise at the stage of announcing requirements for the product. D90 is just a name, and companies may have more stringent requirements for the mineral, microbiological composition; someone needs the ash content of D90 whey, and the microbiology may be like that of a food product. There may also be problems with not the best quality of whey.
It has to be reminded that there are only two companies on the Russian market - manufacturers of full-cycle baby food and, accordingly, consumers of whey D90 - the “Infaprim” plant and the recently launched production of “Farmalact”. The only Russian manufacturer of D90 whey is “Agrocomplex named after Tkachev” - currently carries out trial deliveries of the product. Alexey Lysyakov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Infaprim” told about this to The DairyNews in April.
