On August 1, Russian agricultural enterprises produced 9.6 million tons of milk

For seven months this year agricultural enterprises of the Russian Federation produced 9.6 million tons of raw milk, follows from the operational materials of Rosstat, studied by The DairyNews.
Thus, from January to July 2018 milk production in the sector of agricultural enterprises increased by 3.7%.
At the same time, in July, agricultural enterprises of the Russian Federation produced 1.4 million tons of milk or by 1.8% more than in the same period last year.
Milk yield per cow as of August 1 increased by 2.7% and amounted to 3856 kg.
The total number of cattle in the sector of agricultural enterprises decreased by 1% during seven months of the year and amounted to 8.3 million heads. The number of cows decreased by 1.1% to 3.2 million cows.
