On Thursday the State Duma may adopt a project on the return of products to suppliers, taking into account the position of the Cabinet of Ministers
In July this year the State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill prohibiting the return to suppliers of products that have not been sold by retail chains within a certain period. Now, retailers and suppliers can enter into contracts that envisage the return of products, if it is beneficial to both parties, but the law prohibits imposing the inclusion of terms of return into the contract.
As it was earlier explained by Isaev, the original version of the bill said that all food products are not subject to return, but must be sold by networks and paid in full. The producers of perishable products insisted on it and retailers opposed it. The second reading of the draft was amended, according to which the food products with the shelf life under 30 days will not be returned.
"You know that the Committee agreed with the government amendment, which we discussed at the meeting with the State Duma leadership and the government leadership, that goods with a shelf life of up to 30 days are not subject to return. We believe that in this form the bill will be adopted this week on Thursday", Isaev said.
