Over the period from 2015 to 2020, Leningrad region increased milk production by 12.4%. A year earlier, more than 655 thousand tons of milk were produced in the region (16th place in Russia, including 9th place in production in agricultural organizations). This is stated in the export profile of the region, prepared by State Budgetary Institution Agroexport, writes The DairyNews with reference to the press service of the organization.
In addition, from 2015 to 2020, the productivity of the dairy herd in the region increased by 13.2%. According to the results of 2020, the region ranks 1st among the subjects of the Russian Federation in terms of dairy productivity of cows.
Earlier we reported that Leningrad region was able to maintain milk production volumes, despite the abnormally hot summer and the withdrawal of one of the producers from the market. The volume of raw milk production in Leningrad region by the end of 2021 will remain at the level of last year and will amount to 658 thousand tons of products. Deputy Chairman of the government of Leningrad region Oleg Malashenko announced this at a press conference.
