Patrushev called the development of farming one of the main tasks of the Ministry of agriculture

"The development of the farmer movement is one of the most important tasks facing the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation. To solve it we use a wide range of tools: measures of state support, development of cooperation, creation of comfortable living conditions for farmers and their families", — said Patrushev, speaking at the opening of the General Assembly of the World farmer organization.

He noted that farms in Russia are the most dynamically developing sector of the agricultural economy. "There are more than 205 thousand farms in Russia today, which annually increase the production of agricultural products. Together with the small farms of the population, farmers produce 48% of agricultural products," the Minister said.

He added that for him the participation in the Assembly was of particular importance. "This is the first international agricultural event where I participate in the rank of Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation", — said Patrushev.
