Personal subsidiary farms should not label dairy products - CATD
The question was: ‘What should ordinary personal subsidiary farms do who sell their own dairy products in the markets, renting stalls?’
Yulia Kuzmina, Project Manager of the commodity group Milk, CATD responded as follows:
‘Personal subsidiary farms do not belong to the participants of the circulation and should not label their dairy products.
We remind that recently amendments were made to the legislation on mandatory labeling, related to the postponement of the introduction of labeling for peasant farmholdings and agricultural cooperatives. For all farms, sole proprietors (owners of peasant farm holdings) and agricultural cooperatives, the mandatory labeling of dairy products has been postponed to December 1, 2022.
