Price drop on the global cheese market is continuing

Until recently global cheese market demonstrated oppositely directed tendencies, but at the end of January the main export markets showed the same trend - reduced activity and price drop.
This condition was characteristic of the European market before, not much has changed here. It is not easy to increase sales, the only way out – price decrease. After all in respect of some more expensive positions price increase is fixed. It’s also worth mentioning that external sales keep to positive indexes. Despite general reduction during 11 months of 2015 by 1% (Russia’s ban), 10 top importers from Europe showed significant increase of cheese purchases. In January-November 5 top of them increased import compared to the same period of 2014: USA +17%, Japan +50%, Switzerland +2%, Saudi Arabia +25%, South Korea +71%.
Cheese market in Oceania demonstrated price drop. After a long steady period the drop turned out to be quite notable. Supply and demand disbalance is fixed in the region. US cheese market also doesn’t grow anymore, but the production rate here is active, operators report growing stocks.
