Prodinvest is preparing to start the second stage of construction of a workshop for the production of infant formula
Today, the group of companies Prodinvest is one of the largest suppliers of dairy raw materials for various branches of the Russian food industry. The company's production sites are located on the territory of Smolensk (CJSC Gagarinkonservmoloko, Gagarin) and Bryansk (LLC Balt, Pochep) regions. Agricultural enterprises of the holding also operate in Smolensk region: LLC Baltutino (Glinka district) and CJSC Shuiskoe (Vyazma district). In addition, the company has official representative offices in Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The company is preparing to start the implementation of the second stage of the construction of a workshop for the production of infant formula at the Gagarinkonservmoloko plant. It is worth reminding that this company specializes in the production of dry dairy products (milk and cream powder, butter and milk fat, whey-fat concentrate, etc.). By the way, the company is the largest manufacturer of sour whey powder in Russia. To date, Gagarinkonservmoloko works with suppliers from Russia (Smolensk, Kaluga, Moscow, Tula, Bryansk, Vladimir, Pskov, Belgorod, Vologda, Lipetsk, Yaroslavl regions) and Belarus. The manufactured products are sold on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as in Belarus and Kazakhstan.
With the support of the regional administration, the company is constantly improving the material and technical base and increasing the volume of products. So, in September 2018, a new device for processing whey with a capacity of 700 tons per day was installed at the enterprise. In the same year, Gagarinkonservmoloko started implementing an investment project to create a line for the production of dry dairy products for baby food. In August 2020, this line was launched, and in January of this year it was certified according to international requirements. The social effect was the creation of 52 new jobs. The total investment volume currently exceeds 800 million rubles.
‘Currently, the plant processes 300 tons of milk and 450 tons of whey daily,’ said Mikhail Panchenkov. ‘In terms of raw materials, we give priority to Smolensk suppliers. At the same time, we also carry out part of the purchases from other subjects of the Federation. In the near future, we are preparing to start implementing the second stage of the investment project to create a line for the production of dry dairy products. We will allocate about 200 million rubles for these purposes. The new line will focus on the production of multicomponent infant formula.
He also noted that the process of certification of the plant for the start of export deliveries of whey to China is at the final stage. We plan to supply the first batch in the fourth quarter of this year.
They also discussed the development of the enterprise Shuiskoe (Vyazma district), which specializes in the breeding of cattle, the production and processing of milk, as well as the cultivation of agricultural crops for forage production.
Currently, the area of agricultural land for sowing perennial and annual grasses (hay, haylage, silage, grain) is 2 thousand hectares. The total number of cattle is more than 1,500 head (including 543 milking cows). The gross milk yield is about 2.6 thousand tons.
‘At the moment, the construction of a new farm has been completed in Shuiskoe. 617 pedigree animals were purchased, the most modern equipment was installed. In mid-June, this facility was put into operation. The total investment volume exceeded 570 million rubles. Now we are finishing the reconstruction of auxiliary premises and the creation of hay tunnels. We plan to complete this work by the end of July,’ Mikhail Panchenkov added.
Another topic of discussion was the modernization of the agricultural enterprise Baltutino, located in Glinka district.
‘At this site, we are implementing a large-scale investment project for the construction of a modern dairy complex. To date, the total livestock already has about 3 thousand animals. The plans for this year include the modernization of sites for keeping young animals, the reconstruction of forage harvesting workshops, the construction of silage pits, etc. All these measures will allow us to improve the quality of forage harvesting, and, as a result, milk production. By the way, today the company produces 29 tons of milk per day,’ Mikhail Panchenkov said. ‘We also intend to implement two more projects to increase the number of cattle in both Baltutino and Shuiskoe, as well as the construction of new milking parlours at both sites. So far, these plans are under development, but I can note beforehand that we are ready to allocate about 160 million rubles for these purposes.
