Russian President Vladimir Putin considers it inappropriate to return to State Standard (GOST) for dairy products, if there is no additional control over its compliance.
He reported about it on Thursday during "Hot line".
"Return State Standard for dairy products.... It's not about the State Standard, it's about quality control and control over this State Standard, if it needs to be returned", he said.
As follows from the law on technical regulation valid in the Russian Federation since 2003, any State Standards are voluntary and first of all allow bringing quality of various objects, products and services to a single standard, in contrast to the mandatory nature of technical regulations - they regulate safety.
