Putin reported about the aggravation of the situation with food prices

The problems associated with a sharp fluctuation in prices for socially important products are becoming more acute against the background of an unstable global market situation. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking on Friday at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC), which was held in the format of a video conference.

‘Now, against the background of unstable global market conditions, the problems associated with a sharp fluctuation in prices for socially important products are becoming more acute,’ he said.

Putin added that Russia is grateful to its partners for supporting the Russian initiative to normalize the situation in this area.

‘We have concrete decisions on this issue. In particular, not so long ago, the Eurasian [Economic] Commission adopted specific decisions aimed at consolidating the pricing policy of the EAEU states in the sugar market,’ said the Russian leader.
