Putin: the state will support small farmers

The state will support not only large-sized but also small-sized farms and will develop infrastructure in rural areas. This was stated by Vladimir Putin at a meeting with his authorized representatives at the election of the President of the Russian Federation.
He noted that in recent years for social support of the village there was directed more than 330 billion rubles, although "it is obviously not enough".
According to him, the success in development of agriculture "are largely achieved by large commodity enterprises", but the life in the village is not limited only by them. "Here [there are] some family and small-sized farms. They need support," said Putin, stressing that small-sized farms provide a significant part of the products.
The President also touched upon the problem of infrastructure, reminding about the complexities of resettlement of a large territory of the Russian Federation. "But there are advantages in such a large area <...> of course, we will build roads... we will be improving health care in rural areas", - said Putin.
