Putin: Veterinary certification will help the development of the industry, which will affect the health of people
The Head of state held a working meeting with Minister of agriculture Dmitry Patrushev and the Head of the Federal service for veterinary and phytosanitary control Sergey Dankvert, reports the Kremlin website. They discussed, in particular, the current situation in agriculture and the introduction of electronic veterinary certification system in the country.
"Putting things in order in this area will certainly contribute to the civilized development of agriculture as an industry, and, most importantly, have a positive impact on people's health", said Putin.
At a meeting with the President, the Head of the Ministry of agriculture noted that since July 1, 2018 all veterinary accompanying documents on the territory of the Russian Federation are issued in electronic form.
According to Patrushev, in December last year the number of documents issued per day reached six million, and among the leading subjects are Moscow and Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar region, Chelyabinsk region, Nizhny Novgorod region and Sverdlovsk region.
"In general, in the Russian Federation, the work on the introduction of electronic veterinary certification, in our opinion, goes to the planned indicators, and many regions have already completely switched to it", he added.
In turn, the Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor noted that Russia is now significantly ahead of many foreign countries in terms of fighting against African swine fever and other animal diseases. "We have electronic certification, there is regionalization, which is automatically done by an electronic system, compartmentalization – these are compartments in terms of biological protection. And it turns out that if you have a high level of biological protection, you can supply to any point, and if it is low – you cannot supply anywhere", Dankvert said.
He said that now more than 332.2 thousand legal entities, more than 388 thousand individual entrepreneurs of individual farms and more than 1.4 million individuals of small holders and pet owners are registered in the system.
"You know, it will certainly strengthen our position in the market, and especially in the domestic market, because it will work and works for the interests of the consumer", Putin said.
