RDRC published the ratings of the largest producers and processors of milk in the Russian Federation
It should be noted that 50 largest companies of the Russian market processed more than 10 million tons of milk which is 3.3% (+320.5 thousand tons) more than in the rating of last year.
At the same time the share of the TOP 50 companies in the total volume of processed milk in the country decreased to 55.34%. Last year the share of the 50 largest dairy companies was 56,3%.
The concentration in the milk processing market has slightly decreased. The top ten of the rating also reduced their share in the Russian market to 29.61%.
The top five companies have not changed, the leader of the rating is the company PepsiCo (Frito Lay Manufacturing) and the second place is occupied by Danone. The gap between the transnational companies is only 27.8 thousand tons. JSC Molvest, which increased its share in the Russian volume of processing from 2.7% to 2.8%, is still on third place. The fourth position remained for KOMOS GROUP, the fifth - for the group of companies Dominant. State-owned enterprises, being out of the rating, still occupy the fourth place in terms of milk processing.
LLC MC Prosto moloko (now LLC Azbuka syra), which has only one plant now left the top ten and the company fell to the 23rd position in the rating. The top ten now includes another company from the Republic of Tatarstan, LLC Archa, with a volume of 215.4 thousand tons.
The rapid growth of processing was shown by a new player, GC Neva milk - +87.5% compared to 2016. LLC Archa increased volumes of processing the most in absolute terms (+66 thousand tons to 2016).
The most significant reduction in the volume of processing was shown by MC LLC Prosto moloko (LLC Azbuka syra), -110.6 thousand tons or -45.7%.
In the rating of the largest companies-manufacturers TOP 50 leaders produced 2 987 989 tons of raw milk in 2017, which is 228718 tons or 8.3% more than in 2016. The volume of production of the TOP 50 is approximately equal to 2.4 volumes of milk production of the Republic of Tatarstan, 4.8 volumes of Moscow region. The share of the 50 largest producers in the total volume of milk produced in Russia was 16.6%.
