Representatives of the dairy industry believe that there will be no second overall quarantine

Since the beginning of this month, the government has again introduced some restrictions in the country. Since October 6, by decree No. 97 of the Mayor of Moscow, 30% of companies’ staff has been switched to remote working mode. We wrote about this earlier.

Since October 27, mass entertainment events have been banned throughout the country and night clubs have been restricted. Cafes, bars and restaurants will be closed from 23 pm to 6 am.

At the same time, many representatives of the dairy industry believe that there will not be a second quarantine in our country, since this will negatively affect the economy.

- Food production is primarily food safety, they were not closed even during the quarantine period. Often, part of the office staff is switched to remote work. Some companies left for remote work in March, and still have not returned, working from home. Production workers have worked and will continue to work. You can't switch cows to a remote operation,’ says Sergey Baranov, Director of Kieselmann Rus.

- Our factory is a food producer, of course we worked without stopping during the quarantine. The office was indeed switched to remote working. I do not think there will be a mass closure. And the President of the country said that there will be no hard lockdown, so production processes are unlikely to be affected,’ suggested Taras Kozhanov, Deputy Director of JSC Sernursky cheese factory.

Some experts still believe that if Russia again introduces an overall quarantine, it will have a very negative impact on the industry.

- I think that restrictions will lead to a reduction in consumption. Expenses of enterprises will also decrease, - said Alexey Krysanov, Head of the company Altai cheese makers.

- There can be restrictions only if there is an increase in the incidence of diseases, and of course, they will negatively affect the industry. First of all, on the economy, since everything depends on money, - says Maria Titkova, Deputy Head of the Department of dairy ingredients of LLC Tokom-Elit.

But according to Sergey Baranov, Director of Kieselmann Rus, the current situation is better than at the initial stages of the pandemic.
