Retail turnover in Russia slowed to 2.8% in January from 3.1% in December

Retail trade turnover in Russia in January 2018 increased by 2.8% in comparable prices compared to the same period last year, to 2,321 trillion rubles, is spoken in the operational report of Rosstat.
Thus, the indicator slowed its growth compared to December, when retail turnover grew by 3.1% in annual terms. Retail sales in the country decreased by 25% in January compared with December 2017.
In January, retail trade turnover was 93.9% formed by trading organizations and individual entrepreneurs working outside the market. The share of retail markets and fairs was 6.1%. In January last year these shares were 93.4% and 6.6% respectively.
In the structure of retail trade turnover in January the share of food products, including beverages and tobacco, amounted to 48%, the share of non - food products - 52% (in January last year - 48.6% and 51.4%, respectively).
