Retailer X5 and SOUZMOLOKO will start fighting with counterfeit products together

30% of X5 “fresh” category belongs to dairy products. Demand for this kind of products is continuously growing. But, according to X5, 20% of Russian dairy market is adulterated. That is why the parties agreed to strengthen quality control both in distribution centers and in stores.

X5 is product quality control leader in Russia, as claimed by SOUZMOLOKO. The previous year the retailer launched an informational project aimed at products’ quality monitoring and unfair producers identification. Its results are being published at company’s web-site. 

SOUZMOLOKO is conducting its own quality monitoring during the last several years. In April-October 2013 period 13 from 75 samples of dairy products didn’t meet quality standards: their fatty acid content didn’t coincide with milk fat, some contained non-dairy fats not indicated at label tags.
