Rosselkhoznadzor confirmed the registration of foot and mouth disease in Zabaykalsky region.
"In the study of pathological material taken from a suspect in foot and mouth disease cattle, which is kept in a smallholding in the village Sredneargunsk of Krasnokamensk district of the Zabaikalsky region, all-Russian research Institute of animal protection on November 26 detected antigen of FMD virus type "O", - stated in the message of the service.
Currently, special measures are initiated at the site of the outbreak to prevent the spread of the disease. Employees of Rosselkhoznadzor are sent to unfavourable district.
As it was reported, the clinical signs of FMD were detected in three private farms of the region.
The Governor of Zabaykalsky region was submitted a proposal to establish quarantine areas where the disease is detected.
