Starting from 19 December Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance bans import of cheese from 13 Dutch plants. Russian experts are not satisfied with the way Dutch exporters make out forwarding documents. Judging by the information, published on Rosselkhoznadzor’s web-site, the following plants were banned: 5 plants of FrieslandCampina Cheese, two plants of Bel Leerdammer and a plant of DOC Kaas – i.e. enterprises exporting around 50% of Dutch cheese to Russia.
The question of quality of cheese from the Netherlands was raised in the beginning of October. According to Sergey Dankvert, the way Dutch colleagues check phytosanitary norms abidance does not correspond to Russian requirements. Rosselkhoznadzor’s head promised to update the list of exporters eligible for export to our country.
