Rosstandart registered the method for detection the concentration of milk powder in the products

Rosselkhoznadzor announced the introduction a method of measuring the mass concentration of milk powder in food samples by immunoenzyme analysis using a set of reagents "milk powder-IEA" into the Federal information Fund for ensuring the uniformity of measurements, reports The DairyNews.
The technique was developed by LLC "HEMA" and is currently used by the Federal service for veterinary and phytosanitary supervision in the study of food samples and for the identification of milk powder in samples of dairy products. The objective of the tests - determination of the mass concentration of milk powder to establish compliance of quality indices of products, reminded at the Veterinary Department.

The Rosselkhoznadzor emphasized that the advantage of this method is the ability to conduct research to determine milk powder in drinking milk in a wide range - from 0.5 to 200 mg/cm3. The test works on all types of food milk (cow, goat, etc.) and determines the compliance of milk with the requirements of technical regulations of the Customs Union 033/2013 "On safety of milk and dairy products".

The necessary measurements are performed by immunoenzyme analysis using a set of reagents "Milk powder-IEA".

On May 16, 2016 the methodology has been certified in the Ural research Institute of Metrology (Federal state unitary enterprise "URIM").

Questions related to the possibility of its application by the states-members of the Eurasian economic Union were discussed on January 18 2017, at the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission. They also considered the area of application of this methodology as well as conducting inter-laboratory proficiency tests on the determination of milk powder in special accredited laboratories. We will remind, inter-laboratory proficiency testing is not an obligatory procedure for making techniques to the Fund of measurements and is another argument in confirmation of the reliability of research decisions.

As a result of initiated by Rostandart work on the organization of inter-laboratory proficiency testing by February 15 in UNIIM there were received 10 applications from laboratories accredited for this type of testing, and all from the Russian Federation. From other countries - participants of Eurasian Economic Union, including Belarus, there were no applications for participation in the inter-laboratory proficiency testing.

The Rosselkhoznadzor and Rosstandart consider the soonest submission of the method to the list of standards of the Technical regulations of the Customs Union 033/2013 "On safety of milk and dairy products" to be necessary, concluded in the press service of Rosselkhoznadzor.

Moreover, the Departments had some questions regarding the content of milk powder in the products of Belarusian enterprises.
