Rosstat: the number of cows increased only private farms

According to the report of Rosstat during the first three quarters of 2016, the number of cows over the period has increased only in the segment of private farms, reports The DairyNews.
In total on farms of all categories in Russia the number of cows from January to September decreased by 1.9% up to 8322,4 thousand heads. The total number of cattle decreased by 1.8% up to 19456,06 thousand heads.
In the segment of agricultural associations the number of cows during the first three quarters of the year decreased by 1% up to 3355,4 thousand heads. The total number of cattle decreased by 0.6% up to 8467,4 thousand heads.
In households, the number of cows decreased by 4.4% up to 3813,4 thousand heads, the number of cattle has decreased by 4.4% up to 8584,08 thousand heads.
The growth in the number of cows was noticed only in the segment of private farms where in January-September it increased by 4.3% up to 1153,4 thousand heads. The total number of cattle reached 2404,5 thousand heads, having increased by 3.8%.
