Rostov region is recognized as the main exporter of food in Russia
According to the plans of the new Federal project "Export of agricultural products", by 2024 the export of agricultural products from Rostov region will grow to 7.7 billion dollars. Moreover, the region will not only increase the volume of products, but also expand the range of products. If today the greater part of income comes from the sale of grain, in a few years the share of goods with high added value will seriously increase: meat, milk, sunflower oil and so on.
To help our farmers enter the world market, since 2019 the authorities have introduced new measures of state support, said the Deputy Head of the region. As previously noted by Victor Goncharov, the presence of river and sea ports on the Don predetermined the export "orientation" of the region. In many ways, it is due to the Don farmers Russia ranked the first in the world in wheat exports a few years ago. However, grain is, in fact, raw material. And we need to work to create products with increased added value.
- It is possible just to export wheat abroad, and it is possible to feed cattle with it and to sell meat, providing at the same time people in rural areas with work and earning dozens of percent of profit in addition, - cited an example Victor Goncharov.
Today there are several industries in which the Don farmers are most competitive, and the Don authorities recommend to focus on them. First of all, it is the production of meat, milk, fruits and vegetables (including greenhouses). Those producers who want to try their hand in these priority sectors, the authorities are ready to help with both "administrative resource" and money.
For example, those who want to join the Federal project "Export of agricultural products" will be able to receive preferential loans at three percent per annum. If you want to grow vegetables, you are entitled to compensation for half of all costs for the construction, reconstruction or re-equipment of reclamation systems. The budget includes 506 million rubles. Only this year, with the help of state support, it is planned to introduce 2.5 thousand irrigation hectares into crop rotation. And, for example, exporters can receive serious compensation for transport costs (all possible types of support for farmers, including beginners, can be obtained in the Ministry of agriculture of Rostov region).
The authorities intend to pay more attention to the support of farming and rural cooperation in Rostov region, and this sector is separated in to a separate Federal project, emphasizes Goncharov. After all, farmers today produce 30 percent of all grain, 35 percent of vegetables and seven percent of meat.
