Rusagro group became the largest agricultural holding in Russia
According to the results of 2019, the leader in the rating of the largest agricultural holdings in Russia, as predicted by INFOLine specialists, has changed. GC Rusagro showed a significant increase in revenue – by 67% to 138.2 billion rubles. The main reasons for the growth were the lease of two oil extraction and three fat and oil plants of the holding Solnechnye producty, the beginning of commercial production of pork in three new pig farms in Tambov region and the incorporation of the capacity of pork producer bought in the end of 2018 in Belgorod region, the growth of yields of sugar beet, wheat and oilseeds.
The second place in the rating was taken by GC Cherkizovo, which increased revenue by 20% to 120.1 billion rubles. The main factors contributing to the growth of Cherkizovo's sales were the development of the export direction and the expansion of its presence in the HoReCa segment. The revenue in the company's poultry segment increased by 33.4% (to 70.3 billion rubles), while the revenue in crop segment increased by 15.9%, and turkey meat sales increased by 15.5%.
The agro-industrial holding Miratorg, the leader of the previous year, moved to the third place. According to the consolidated financial statements under IFRS, Miratorg's revenue amounted to 119.1 billion rubles, showing an increase of 6.7% (Miratorg's consolidated financial statements do not include the revenue of LLC Bryansk meat company). Revenue growth was driven by a 27% increase in beef production, a 20% increase in poultry production, and a 24% increase in semi – finished products.
The rating also includes dairy companies, in particular, the fifth place is taken by Agropromkomplektatsiya, and the eighth - by Agrocomplex named after Tkachev. KOMOS Group closes the top ten.
According to specialists of INFOLine, a key trend in the development of the agricultural sector remains active in building competencies in the production of finished products, i.e. the strategy of vertical integration, M&A activity and implementation of investment projects and export potential of Russian products.
