Countries-exporters to Russia have lost $9.3 billion because of food embargo. This is an estimation of experts from an analytical center affiliated to the government. The estimation doesn’t include losses of Turkish and Ukrainian exporters.
The most crucial turned out to be the “leading wave” of the embargo. In August 2014 Russia banned import of beef, pork, poultry edible by-products, fish, milk and dairy products, as well as some vegetables, fruit and nuts from European Union, USA, Canada, Australia and Norway.
The experts also noted that in June 2015 the embargo was prolonged and in August the list of countries was expanded by Iseland, Albania, Montenegro and Liechtenstein because these countries supported the anti-Russian sanctions.
