Russia has reduced palm oil imports by almost 20 percent
In total, importers imported 299 thousand tons of this product to Russia. The Rosstat clarified that in January and February, there was also a decrease in imports, but not as noticeable as by the results of four months, only 8.1 percent.
During this period, much less fresh and frozen meat was imported to our country, only 94.5 thousand tons, which is 30 percent less than the figure of last year.
It cannot be concluded that this was due to the disruption of logistics in world trade in connection with the pandemic, since there are positions of food products for which there was an increase in imports. Therefore, there was imported more chicken by 1.5 percent (71.6 thousand tons), butter – by 5.9 percent (39.3 thousand tons), cheese and cottage cheese – by 5.1 percent (92.5 thousand tons).
