Russia increased dairy products output, though milk production is decreasing
Russia increased volumes of whole milk products output (equivalent to milk) by 4.1% in January-June 2013 compared to the same period of 2012 – to 5.94 mln tons.
Russia increased volumes of whole milk products output (equivalent to milk) by 4.1% in January-June 2013 compared to the same period of 2012 – to 5.94 mln tons. During the first half of the year production of raw milk totaled 15.3 mln tons, down 4.2%. Average purchase price for Class I raw milk of basic milk fat as of July 15 reached 13.96 rubles per kg (excl VAT).
Import of dairy products (equivalent to milk) to Russia during January-May 2013 period decreased 1.5% to 2.63 mln tons. However import of butter (excl import from Belarus and Kazakhstan) as of July 3 increased by 1.7 times – to 37 thousand tons compared to the same period of 2012, milk powder – by 9.4% to 14.1 thousand tons.
