Russia won nine medals at the World cheese championship in Italy
"This has never happened before - Russia has never won anything at the world cheese Championship. Never! And there are so many awards! It is the real breakthrough of Russian cheeses to the world level", - said Oleg Sirota, who also took part in the competition with the products of the cheese factory "Russian Parmesan".
Gold medal of the World championship was won by the cheese "Peshcherny" with a ripening period of seven months, made at the cheese factory "Cheese & beer" in Korolev, Moscow region. Six bronze medals of the championship will go to Istra and Chekhov in Moscow region: four to Istra cheese factory of Oleg Sirota, (semi-hard cheeses: "Krestyansky, "Medovy"; hard cheeses: Istrinsky and Festivalny with a ripening perion of seven months), two - to Chekhov cheese factory De famille ("Le Payet de famille" and "Brik amber de famille").
In addition, two bronze medals were brought by "The school of cheese making by Olesya Shevchuk". They awarded the cheeses "Duel" - the author's hard cheese from a mixture of cow and goat milk with a ripening period of one year, its idea is to show how vividly the flavors reveal, and how many additional shades reveal when cow and goat milk are combined together. "Tricolor" is a semi-hard goat's milk cheese with an Italian flag on the cut.
"This cheese helps us to express our love, friendship and respect for our colleagues from Italy through its unusual pure taste and festive mood, which it creates by its appearance. We are very grateful to Yulia Losenkova and Rustam Agdarov for their help in sending cheeses to the competition – they took a huge job on paperwork for export!",- said Olesya Shevchuk.
In June 2019, at the cheese salon Mondial du Fromage 2019, the products of domestic cheesemakers were awarded with gold and silver medals.
