In 2-3 years Russia will no longer need imported cheese. This was announced by the Russian Minister of Agriculture Aleksander Tkachyov.
The Minister cited France as an example, which has lost around 1 billion euro because of Russian embargo. “It’s a serious blow to economy made by the French government and those who are responsible for politics – not only in France, but in EU as well”, - said the Minister.
Soon some farm sectors in Russia will no longer depend on import – particularly the cheese market, added Mr. Tkachyov. A number of big cheese making plants will be built in the short term, while the current capacities allowed to increase cheese production by 18%, he also said.
