Russian FAS and Ministry of Agriculture plan to launch interventions on the raw milk marke
In January Russian government will get two proposals concerning seasonal production variability and price variation reduction.
n January Russian government will get two proposals concerning seasonal production variability and price variation reduction. The proposals are being prepared by Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) and Ministry of Agriculture. The service suggests conducting government procurement interventions on the market of raw milk. Idea to help the market this way belongs to large processors, including Danone and PepsiCo.
In case of seasonal raw milk prices fall the government will buy large volumes of milk and butter in order to keep the market price at profitable for farmers and dairy plants level. In case the price is growing, the government will sell the purchased earlier volumes. Volumes of possible government procurement are not specified yet.
