Russian Ministry of economic development lowered milk production forecast
According to the Ministry of economic development and trade of the Russian Federation forecast, milk production in Russia may reach 37.1 – 42.8 mln tons by 2030.
According to the Ministry of economic development and trade of the Russian Federation forecast, milk production in Russia may reach 37.1 – 42.8 mln tons by 2030. According to the preceding forecast the production was supposed to reach 42.5 – 46.3 mln tons, in 2012 it totaled 31.9 mln tons (+0.9% vs 2011).
The ministry forecasts consumption growth due to healthy lifestyle popularity rise. Dairy products consumption per capita is likely to come close to the European ones and almost reach the recommended amounts (312 – 315 kg per capita against 246 kg in 2011).
Dairy products production is forecasted to grow by 1.2 – 1.4 times in 2030 compared to 2011. Dairy products import share is forecasted to decrease to 11-12% against 19% in 2011.
