Sergey Dankvert filed a libel claim to the police
The head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, Sergey Dankvert, filed a libel and false denunciation claim to the police because of accusations of extortion from the Polish company. This was reported to journalists by the adviser to the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Yulia Melano.
"We inform you about filing a claim to the Moscow police Department about the crime and bringing the perpetrators to justice for libel and deliberately false denunciation", Melano said.
Dankvert's advocate will be Anatoly Kucherena, a member of the Public chamber and Chairman of the public Council at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Charges of extortion against the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, as claimed by REN TV with reference to a source, were made by a representative of the Polish company "Mlekovita". The company accused Dankvert of extorting a bribe of $500 thousand for lifting restrictions on the supply of products. In addition to Dankvert, according to REN TV, his Deputy Konstantin Savenkov is listed among those involved in extortion. A lawyer named Suzdaltsev appears as an intermediary in the application. According to a source of the TV channel, the businessmen claim that the negotiations on the bribe took place in November last year in a restaurant on Presnenskaya embankment.
The Rosselkhoznadzor denied these charges. "Talk of resuming the supply of products from enterprises located in countries that have fallen under counter-sanctions is inappropriate since 2014", Melano said, reminding about the food embargo imposed by Russia this year.
The management of the Polish company also officially denied data that Dankvert demanded money for the admission of Polish products to Russia. "The management of “Mlekovita” is not familiar with Dankvert and has never met him", said a representative of the company
At the same time, on May 28, the Main Department of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Moscow reported that it was actually checking the application of a representative of a company that produces dairy products on extortion of a bribe for lifting restrictions on the supply of this company's products to Russia. The police promised to take into account the official statement of the management that there was no extortion.
