Sergey Lyban: The amount of raw milk is not being increased in Russia, and wars for it on the market will continue

According to the expert who spoke during the presentation of the rating of the 30 largest milk processors by revenue, which was prepared by Soyuzmoloko, the market of milk and whole milk products, as well as the dairy industry as a whole, is growing due to investments. Over time, manufacturers will pay attention to profitability.

‘Now all the trends are aimed at the development of enterprises and the conquest of markets,’ said the head. ‘Taking into account the fact that the amount of raw milk is not increased, wars on the market are likely to continue. Large investments are being made in the industry and this will certainly give results over time. Now the industry is showing growth, because in the previous years it was killed, so it starts moving.

According to the speaker, Belarus remains one of the global problems of domestic dairy producers. And how it all ends, time will show.

The head said that the dairy plant Cheese House plans to increase the volume of production of hard and semi-hard cheeses, for which the company has prepared an appropriate database.

‘Cheese and whey are our potential for export to China, which will still consume more of them than in Russia. Naturally, our market will begin to change. I think that it will not be so fast, but some changes will occur within five or six years.

The expert does not expect global changes in the domestic market of the dairy industry in the coming years. Perhaps they will come in 10 years.

‘In the meantime, the market will continue to be saturated with investors,’ the speaker stressed. ‘And again, if people become richer and start consuming more dairy products, it will primarily affect cheeses.
